About POCHE South Australia
The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health and Well-Being, Adelaide, was established in January 2011 within the College of Medicine and Public Health (formerly the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences) at Flinders University. It is a sister centre to the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health and Well-Being, Northern Territory (Alice Springs and Darwin).
Poche Adelaide is committed to:
- Strategic research with a particular focus on pedagogy, policy, health services, racism and mental health/social, spiritual and emotional well-being.
- Building overall workforce capability through curriculum development, improved pedagogy, professional development and culturally-safe university/healthcare settings.
- Recruiting and supporting more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from pre-entry to graduation.
